What’s in my box? The TeenVogue March Birchbox

Here’s is what should have been in my March “TeenVogue” Birchbox ; and yeah, I’m not a teenager anymore – but who cares,  I had a feeling that the box would contain some awesome goodies and I was right, but unfortunately still a little disappointed. Keep reading and I’ll explain why…because Birchbox did redeem themselves.

What my box should have looked like (and almost did):

The Card:

For those unfamiliar Birchbox, a monthly subscription service where four to five hand-picked deluxe samples are delivered to your door for $10 per month (including shipping), includes a card with every box that explains the theme of the box, as well as info on the items included in your box.

Let’s see the goods…

Essie Luxeffects Nail Polish Top Coat in “A Cut Above”, Twistband Hair Tie in Yellow and Annick Goutal Petite Cherie Fragrance.

Shown here: Essie Luxeffects Nail Polish Top Coat in “A Cut Above” layered on China Glaze Capitol Colours “Foie Gras”

Quick Take: Fun accent for a night out BUT takes quite a bit of effort to remove!

Shiseido Pureness Oil-Control Blotting Papers (10 Count)

Quick Take: Great for travel, uses rice powder for oil absorption – no powdery feel or residue left.

Annick Goutal Petite Cherie Fragrance Sample

Quick Take:  A scent I wouldn’t mind wearing in Spring ordinarily, though it reminds me of a sad memory for some reason. Fruity with a hint of sweetness, but still clean and not overly powerful. Use it in moderation!

Bonus: $10 off coupon code

Quick Take:  Great because it’s one of my favorite websites! Though you have to spend at least $75 USD.

Did you notice what’s missing??

Yeah, my FULL SIZE Tarte LipSurgence™ lip tint! So sad, it’s one of my favorite products (I own many of the shades already). When I opened my Birchbox, part of my (normally tissue paper-wrapped and tied with ribbon) stuff was upwrapped and my Tarte lip tint was missing.

Now I must say this has never happened before, normally Birchbox has everything packaged perfectly!! I was definitely bummed because, since I love Tarte lip tints, I knew what I was missing out on – though luckily I contacted Birchbox via twitter and they actually replied!

It was nice to know that they care about their subscribers and they promptly advised me to email them, and while they couldn’t send me the product (as they had no more available) they did redeem themselves by providing me with “we’re sorry” Birchbox points – which can be used to purchase full size products on their website!

So while I was a little disappointed, thank you Birchbox for caring and doing something about the issue – it was appreciated!

Overall, it was a good box except for that little mishap 😀

  1. I’m glad they gave you points to redeem themselves! Was it enough for you to buy a full size product?
